Texas State Agency Work

I have four years of Texas state agency experience from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (2022-2024) and the Texas Epidemic Public Health Institute. (2024-2026). Here is a selection of work from my favorite projects at each agency.

Publications

While at AgriLife, I designed curricula, fact sheets, reports and even got the chance to redesign the New Employee Handbook. I was on a small publications team — just three editors and two designers — and I worked with an editor to create a new workflow for the department to streamline the publication process. The new process incorporated Adobe InCopy to minimize sharing of proof PDFs and Adobe Bridge to allow editors to directly add captions and alternative text to images to improve accessibility. The process also took advantage of SharePoint and OneDrive so that when project files were created and updated, the designers and editors would have near-instant access.

Better Living for Texans

The work I did with the folks over at BLT was the driving factor to finding a career in public health. I did photo and video work to promote healthy eating, active living and had a blast doing it. Check out the 2024 nutritional calendar I designed, Celebrating Texas Plates, featuring recipes from cultures found all throughout Texas.

Juntos en Salud

Juntos en Salud is a health promotion campaign geared toward migrant agricultural workers and their families in the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso and Panhandle regions of Texas. My small team of six spent time doing research and discovery including interviews, photography and videography. We worked with a marketing agency to create an identity that we felt would resonate with our audience.
